Day Sixteen - Brussels
I found there would be an open rehearsal of the Brussels Philharmonic on my last day. The rehearsal was at the Flagey, an art deco arts center that had been Belgium’s national broadcast and recording center. The rehearsal, under the direction of the music director, Kazushi Ono, was in the large Studio 4, a concert hall with superb acoustics. The work was Ravel’s Daphnis and Cloe, familiar to me from multiple Atlanta Symphony Orchestra performances and featured the Flemish Radio Choir.
